LLUMM is the new project of Alfredo Costa Monteiro and Ferran Fages, started in the spring of 2018, after a brief musical silence following Cremaster project (2000-2017). LUMM emerges from a desire to work from almost nothing and to produce a delicate but compact music, made of breaks and intervals where activity and non-activity would have the same importance. Atypical harmonies are built and disintegrated into resonances and their acoustic residues lead to a state of suspension, with clarity and precision, as if each sound could only be where it is; the economy of means is taken here as a basic premise in order to get to the essential. After twenty years of collaborations, Alfredo Costa Monteiro and Ferran Fages find the creative dialogue they have always had. This residency will serve to solidify these new forms, as well as a first recording.
